The VP of Marketing & Communications is a new, elevated position recognizing this essential function in Food Bank of the Rockies’ future. The Vice President of Marketing and Communications is responsible for the strategy and execution of Food Bank of the Rockies’ marketing, branding, media and public relations, campaign promotion and engagement activities that are essential to enhancing brand reputation and community support. The Vice President of Marketing and Communications will work in close alignment with the entire organization to drive overall brand awareness of Food Bank of the Rockies and its mission; increase visibility among various stakeholders; and build a culture where marketing, development and programming functions collaborate and drive decisions informed by market-driven data. This position serves as a key member of the Leadership Team and oversees the Digital Media Marketing Specialist and the Director of Marketing.

Essential Functions

· Lead Food Bank of the Rockies’ marketing and communications strategies to cultivate and enhance relationships with key audiences including:
donors, stakeholders, community leaders and partners, the media and the general public;

· Develop and execute innovative marketing and public relations plans, including traditional and social media, to support Food Bank of the Rockies’ mission, goals and objectives;

· Develop and implement integrated marketing and communications plan to advance organization’s brand identity, broaden and increase the visibility of its programs and build a strong public voice;

· Ensure brand standards are maintained throughout organization including all volunteer, donor, partner agency, and client written and verbal communications;

· Oversee all aspects of marketing and communications, including branding, advertising, collateral materials, email, and branding/marketing components of special events and direct mail, and more;

· Lead and oversee design and content of Food Bank of the Rockies’ website as well as all online and social media initiatives, monitors analytics and usage;

· Oversee all aspects of public relations, including media relations and community relations; plans and executes media campaigns;

· Partners with Leadership Team to develop and implement internal communications strategy across multiple channels;

· Oversee and direct Food Bank of the Rockies public speaking opportunities including preparation of talking points, creation or review of visual collateral and slides, and training of staff as needed;

· Source and manage the use of external resources (e.g., public relations firms, advertising and marketing agencies, photographers, printers, digital media experts, graphic designers, among others);

· Direct and execute annual budget and planning for marketing and communications activities;

· Act as occasional Food Bank of the Rockies spokesperson;

· Perform all other duties as assigned or delegated



· Ability to represent Food Bank of the Rockies with professional poise and work effectively with a wide range of constituents

· Excellent written communication skills including impeccable grammar and attention to detail as well as the ability to translate organizational data
into compelling and relatable information targeted to the audience

· Stellar oral communication skills with the ability to relate well to multiple internal and external constituent groups. Effective, compelling, and articulate
presenter to small and large groups

· Skilled relationship builder; proven ability to build rapport easily with diverse groups both

· Demonstrates compassion and sensitivity to vulnerable populations

· Excellent organizational, time management and follow-through skills

Education and Experience:

· Bachelor’s degree in related field; or equivalent work-related experience

· Minimum 10 years’ experience in marketing and communications including branding, public relations, social and traditional media, and collateral development for diverse audiences

· Minimum five years’ experience in managing teams, preferably in the field of marketing and communications

· Extensive experience in nonprofit organization marketing and communication preferred

· Extensive experience using Microsoft Office Suite and online technologies

· Experience using collaborative tools for file storage and sharing, meeting scheduling, and virtual collaboration preferred

· Strong working knowledge of Luminate and Blackbaud Raiser’s Edge preferred
